3 Washington IPAs are in The Big Dance

NIPAC (National IPA Championship) is sponsored by the Brewing News each year. This year there are 3 Washington IPAs in the Big Dance. To mirror the NCAA basketball championship tournament, they break out the entrants into brackets and hold four regional playoff rounds. NIPAC concludes with a final championship round in New York City on March 21st. The first round will begin on Feb. 22nd, so get your picks in now.

This is good fun. You can go to the Brewing News NIPAC Web site and learn all about it. You can set up your own brackets, get email updates to see how your favorite IPAs are doing, and cheer on our Washington brewers. Out of the 64 IPAs in the tournament, how many are you familiar with?

The Washington breweries who made it into this year’s final 64 are:
Boundary Bay IPA
Red Hook Long Hammer IPA
Pike Brewing IPA

  1. Boundary Bay vs. Racer 5 in the next round. I feel sorry for those judges. Kind of. Well, not really.

Hey Beveridge Place, Brouwers, 99 Bottles – how bout getting our own bracket tastings going? Can you get some of these IPAs that we have never heard of before so we can do our own taste tests?
