Gig Harbor’s 7 Seas Brewing is about the celebrate its second anniversary. This Saturday (July 16) the brewery hosts a big bash to mark the occasion. (Complete info below.) We attended last year’s shindig and it was a great party (our report). The music was fantastic, the crowd was huge, and the barbecued food was tasty. And of course the beer was plentiful and delicious. Knowing Mike, Travis and the crew at 7 Seas, they’ve probably upped the ante this year and things will be even better.
The Washington Beer Blog would like to extend our congratulations to 7 Seas Brewing. When we first met them, we thought that maybe Mike and Travis were a bit idealistic and over-optimistic. When they told us that packaging beer in aluminum cans was part of the core, initial business plan, we thought that maybe they’d failed to pencil it out completely. It’s not an inexpensive proposition. But the boys proved us wrong, and less than a year after opening the brewery, we were happy as heck when they became the first Washington craft brewery to make its beer available in lightweight, light-proof, easy-to-pack, efficiently recycled and environmentally responsible 16 ounce cans. For this party, 7 Seas converts its parking lot into the festival grounds so you need to park offsite. Look for signs directing you to the parking lot, where a constantly running shuttle bus transports you a short distance to the party. They make this very easy for you. Seriously, don’t even think about finding your own parking spot. Follow the signs, take the shuttle. Trust me on this one, the shuttle is super easy and quick. Whatever you do, do not park in the lot at the Inn at Gig Harbor or any of the neighboring business. Follow the instructions, play by the rules, color inside the lines, and nobody will get hurt.

Featuring live music by Gig Harbor’s own Perry Acker, Shy Boys, and China Davis along with Puyallup’s SweetKiss Momma, it’s sure to be a blast. Buck’s BBQ will be in the house once again, and of course plenty of delicious 7 Seas Proper Pints. The event runs from 12 noon-8 pm.
Keep in mind the event is 21+, so please plan accordingly. CASH ONLY. Also, please be safe and designate a sober driver or make a night of it by booking a room with our next-door neighbors, The Inn at Gig Harbor, they will take excellent care of you. Signs will direct you to our parking area, across 56th St. @ the Old Gig Harbor Movie Theater and surrounding lot. Parking attendants will assist and a constantly running shuttle will swiftly transport you to our entrance. Please ONLY park in designated areas, as we hope to be able to do this every year. It is sure to be a good time so don’t miss out!
