Back on April 8th, the Everett Herald Reported that Lost Canoe Brewing had acquired another Snohomish-area brewery, Sound to Summit Brewing. Everyone wonder what the meant–one small, hyper-regional brewery buying another. Turns out, the owners of Sound to Summit were just looking to move on for personal reasons and found a local buyer.

So, yes, that happened. Read the story linked above to learn more about the acquisition and the plan moving forward. Today, I am sharing news that Adam Frantz is joining the team at Sound to Summit Brewing as the Head Brewer. Adam’s brewing pedigree involves stints at Mac and Jack’s Brewery, American Brewing Company, and most recently, Belltown Brewing.

Here is the announcement that Sound to Summit posted on its Facebook page.

Sound to Summit is proud to welcome Adam Frantz to the team as Head Brewer! Adam is a highly talented brewer with a passion for the craft.

Previously, Adam was head brewer for Belltown Brewing in Seattle and American Brewing in Edmonds. Prior to that, Adam got his start as a professional brewer for Mac and Jack’s in Redmond. This year Adam was awarded the prestigious Glen Hay Falconer Scholarship and is currently enrolled in the 22-week Intensive Brewing Science & Engineering course at the American Brewers Guild. This distance education course is one that allows the brewer to study while maintaining his career.
