Ale Yeah! Astoria’s Pacific Northwest Brew Cup

For beer tourists, Astoria certainly has its virtues. Of course it’s the home to the esteemed Fort George Brewing Company, but there are other breweries in the area, including Buoy Beer Company which opened on Astoria’s waterfront in 2014.  Today we share word of a beer festival that happens in Astoria, Oregon later this month: The Pacific Northwest Brew Cup.

For complete details, visit the event website. Also, if you ever plan to visit Astoria for beer touring, check out the story we did on Go Find Beer, our beer travel website: Beer Touring in Astoria and Beyond.

The Pacific Northwest Brew Cup is described as one of Oregon’s best-kept beer secrets, with an Oktoberfest vibe and beers from over 40 regional breweries. Admission is free, but to sample the brews you need to purchase a souvenir mug ($9) and tokens ($1 each). The family-friendly event also offers street eats from local vendors, live music and growler fills.

Two special events within the larger event return this year: the Brewer’s Reception Dinner ($35) and Brewer’s Breakfast ($15), which allows guests to meet brewers as they mingle with the crowd. This year the event also includes a home brew competition on Sunday.
