At Last, Bellevue Brewing Company Opens for Business

Last night we attended a pre-opening event at Bellevue Brewing Company. At long last, John Robertson’s dream is about to come to fruition. We were the first to report on his intention to open Bellevue’s first locally owned brewery back in September 2010 (read it). Today at 4:00, the doors open for business.

They will open today, but keep an eye on the Facebook page and the website for the most current information. The plan is to host a phased opening, with an Open House from December 13 through 19 and Grand Opening December 20 – 24. As of last night, they are pouring only their Stout. More beer will be introduced over the coming days.

Since I first introduced you to John Robertson two years ago, he methodically and carefully assembled a team (pictured below) to help realize his vision. First up, Scott Hansen, craft beer industry veteran formerly with Fish Brewing. Also from Fish Brewing, Anthony Powell is manning the brewhouse, along with his assistants Matt and Ben.

Getting there: I understand that Google maps is directing people to the wrong location (kind of). To find Bellevue Brewing, look for Angelo’s restaurant on 130th Ave NE. The brewery is essentially behind Angelo’s in the building next door. The address is on 130th, but you’ll find it east of 130th — east of the spot shown on the Google map.  1820 130th Ave. NE, Bellevue. map

It’s a beautiful space, but I’ll let the pictures tell that story. The food we sampled last night was excellent, as was the beer. However, I should note that the Stout was the only beer ready for us to sample.

Congratulations to John and his team. It’s been a long time coming. We look forward to sampling more of your beer in the near future.
