Bad Jimmy's Brewing opening to the public this Friday

This Friday, December 27, Bad Jimmy’s Brewing opens its doors to the public. Call it a Christmas miracle. Original reports suggested that the brewery would open in April of 2013, the company launched a successful Kickstarter campaign in June, the build-out continued through the summer and fall, but this Friday at noon the doors finally open.

“We should have our Pale, Red, IPA, and Habanero Amber ready for opening day,” said Billy Burdick, owner and brewer at Bad Jimmy’s. Billy and his brewing partner John Stinson have been working on recipes and pilot batches for a couple of years and are excited to share some beer with the public.

The brewery and tasting room are located in that mysterious part of Seattle known as Frelard, where people struggle to define themselves as residents of Fremont or Ballard. For the sake of further bolstering Ballard’s reputation as the city’s top brewery district, consider the location Ballard, though some will argue that it is really in Fremont. Seattle magazine considers it Fremont, while the Ballard News Tribune considers it Ballard. According to Google maps, Bad Jimmy’s is literally on the line between the two neighborhoods. I know this: If you start at Hale’s Ale Brewery and count your way west, Ballard is now home to ten breweries.
