Bartell Drugs taps into the power of classic rock, and beer

Last July we told you about the plan for Bellevue Brewing to team-up with KZOK to create beers to benefit worthy causes. The latest beer in that series will soon be available at Bartell Drugs. On Friday, April 22nd they’ll begin filling growlers of Electric Citrus IPA. They kick it all off with a “Beer Stop” party at the Bartell Drugs location in Seattle’s South Lake Union district.

Our local drug store chain has made an impressive commitment to good, local beer recently. In addition to offering growler fills at select locations, they’ve also teamed up with local breweries to create unique beers.

In February of this year Bartell Drugs they partnered with Two Beers Brewing to create a new IPA (read about it) and in October of last year they hooked up with Schooner Exact Brewing to create a beer for Bartell’s 125th anniversary (read about it).

Here is the official press release about this Bartell Drugs filling growlers of Electric Citrus IPA, with information about the party on Friday, April 22.

SEATTLE —  Bartell Drugs is getting known for its unique Northwest on Tap growler fills with a great selection of local craft beers at several of our store locations. Now we’ve teamed up with Seattle’s iconic rock radio station—102.5 KZOK—to add its Electric Citrus IPA from Bellevue Brewing to our growler line-up.

To celebrate this special launch, our South Lake Union store is hosting a “Beer Stop” with KZOK hosts Danny Bonaduce and Sarah on Friday, April 22 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sarah is known to many local beer aficionados for her beer blog which features a Beer of the Week and trips to regional craft breweries and those around the world.

Bartell Drugs continued its tradition of featuring innovative services and products when it launched its first Growler Fill Station at its South Lake Union store in 2013. Now there are four additional locations featuring fill stations including Bellevue Village, Greenwood, Upper Queen Anne, and Market and 15th.

Bartell’s partnered with Seattle’s Two Beers Brewery to launch its own citrus-infused Tangerine IPA in March. The Tangerine IPA is also available in our five Growler Fill Stations as well as in 20-ounce bottles in all Bartell’s locations.
