Beer at the Ballpark 2016 – Finding good beer at Safeco Field

Here is the 2016 listing of beer at the ballpark, a guide to finding good beer at Safeco Field. This list is compiled from information provided by the Seattle Mariners, Safeco Field’s concessionaire, and the distributors who provide the beer. Also, plenty of personal research. This is the closest thing you’ll find to an official list of good beer at the ballpark.

If you’re headed to a Mariners game this summer, think of this as your personal beer guide. Bookmark it on your phone. We don’t talk about any of the big, mega-brand beers. Just the good stuff.

Listings for:

Beer in Cans
Draft Beer by Brewery (includes where you’ll find it)
Draft Beer by Location (includes what’s on tap there)

Visiting from out of town? Below we share some information for you about nearby breweries. Click here.

The debate will continue this summer about which MLB ballpark has the best selection of craft beer. For those of you researching that topic, behold the glory that is beer at Safeco Field. Cheers to the Seattle Mariners for their commitment to good beer.

safeco_sour_beer2016 Safeco Field Beer Highlights

  • Sour Beer. This year you can get sour beer at the ballpark. On draft, Schooner Exact Brewing’s Jawja Peach Sour (two locations). As far as we know, Safeco Field is the first MLB ballpark to ever offer sour beer as part of the regular lineup.
  • Cans of good beer are now available at your seats (vendors) and at all Good Hops locations. It’s an impressive list. It includes Victory Brewing’s Summer Love – a beer you won’t find anywhere else around Seattle but at the ballpark.
  • Cask beer is available at every game this year. As in years past, two cask beers will be poured (pumped) from beer engines at the specially designed, cask-conditioned beer station (section 129). The beer selection will change with each home stand.
  • Gluten-free beer is now available at the ballpark. Seattle’s own Ghostfish Brewing (located right down the street from the ballpark) won two of the three medals awarded in the Gluten-Free Beer category at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival. The pale ale is available in 16-oz cans at the ballpark.

2 thoughts on “Beer at the Ballpark 2016 – Finding good beer at Safeco Field

  1. Why do you assume and say that “Big Mega Beer Brands” aren’t part of the good stuff? That is really ignorant and arrogant. Leinenkugel’s is great beer. Blue Moon is too – 20 some years old. Ever tried to home brew a Pilsner Light Lager (Miller Lite) – can’t do it – really difficult – can’t hide the imperfections like you can with a wheat beer or IPA. Listen I love a local “craft” beer like the next guy but I really get turned off by the attitude here in Seattle and Portland that big is bad, and small and local is good. I’ve tasted many of small, supposedly cool “hip” beers that are crap. So let’s stop assuming that local is the all end all be all and best. You drive a GMC, Ford, Chevy? Those are big brands – are they bad cars? It’s ridiculous….When I go to a 3-4 hour game or concerti don’t want to drink a loaf of bread all night – it’s about occasions and light beer serves a purpose – its sessionable, you can drink more of them, their refreshing and it helps me stay responsible so let’s not be so quick to blast “the mega brands” – they got big by being consistent and brewing quality beer over and over – some of these local cats would kill to be a “big mega beer”. And no I don’t work for Budweiser etc. Enough with the beer snobbery. Good Lord.
