Beer & Oyster Pairing Event at Ballard Annex

Last month the Washington Beer Blog hosted the third annual Craft Beer + Food event. The beer and food pairing extravaganza featured a number of outstanding combinations. Some were heavy, rich and decadent. Others were light and refreshing. Off all the various pairings, one of my favorites was from Ballard Annex Oyster House and Reuben’s Brews — a bright and delicious Shigoku Oyster, on the half shell, paired with a crisp rye beer from Reuben’s Brews.

This Thursday, October 24th, Ballard Annex Oyster House hosts a beer and oyster tasting event. Featured breweries include Ballard’s own Reuben’s Brews and NW Peaks Brewing.


  • Thursday, October 24th.
  • Doors open at 5:00, event starts at 6:00. (Cocktails and raw bar will be available to order upstairs between 5:00 & 6:00.)
  • Representatives from both breweries will talk about beer and Executive Chef Josh Greenwill will talk about the food.
  • The menu includes four parings with three of the pairings being cooked offerings (Taylor Shellfish Small Pacifics) and one raw (Taylor Shellfish shigoku).
