Beer Release: Session IPA, Bellevue Brewing Company

bellevue brewing company

From the brewery:

We could not be more excited to release our newest beer for 2015: our Session IPA (“SIPA”). We expect to release this beer on April 1st in our taproom and via our distributor, Columbia Distributors, by April 3rd; it is a draught-only beer with limited distribution and no bottles are planned at this time. Accounts wishing to put this beer on draught should contact the brewery directly, or their Columbia rep, ASAP as it will go fast.

This golden-hued beauty hits the scales at 4.7% ALC/VOL, 48 IBU, and 12.3º Plato.

The aroma is bright, like a sunny day, with hints of juicy Rainier cherries, fresh-cut mangos, and sweet spring blossoms. On the palate, you’ll enjoy some bitter-sweet orange notes with the maltiness faintly echoing cookie dough. The mouthfeel is best described as offering measurable body; whereas many SIPAs offer a slightly watery, scaled down Pale Ale experience.

At just 4.7% ALC/VOL, the BBC SIPA is a “whenever” session beer that is sure to please without all the horsepower we pack into our Flagship IPA at 7.2% ALC/VOL. It’s also lower than our Flagship 425 Pale Ale, which is 4.8% ALC/VOL.

Releasing April 1, 2015…no fooling!
