Best of Hands Barrelhouse releasing first bottled beer this Sunday

Limited-release, foeder-aged, mixed-culture saison available in bottles on December 29th.

Best of Hands Barrelhouse and Brewery opened last March in West Seattle. Straight out of the gate, all of the beers were rock solid. The Baltic Porter, perhaps my favorite, was exceptional. The plan was not to just brew beer, but to artfully age and blend beer, as the world “barrelhouse” implies. In July, the company received two foeders, large barrel-like vessels used for aging beer or wine. This Sunday, Best of Hands Barrelhouse and Brewery releases its first bottled beer, a foeder-aged, mixed-culture saison.

Bottles of this limited-release beer go on sale Sunday, December 29th at noon. Customers are limited to four bottles each. Below, I share more information about the beer, straight from the brewery.

Release date: Sunday, December 29th at 12:00pm

This is our first run of extremely limited bottle releases, as well as the first beer to undergo aging in our foeder! State of Non-Return is a new American oak foeder aged mixed-fermentation saison ale, dry-hopped with Galaxy, HBC-472, & BRU-1. This beer boasts notes of pineapple, tropical fruits, citrus and oak on the nose with underlying hints of Brettanomyces funk and acidity. Flavors that follow the nose on the palate with the additional presence of juicy passionfruit, earthy wildflowers, and some rose-like alcohol. These notes meld into a tart & tannic finish with expressions of American oak, hints of vanilla, and leathery horse blanket funk. There will be a 4 bottle per person limit.

AVAILABLE ONLY AT THE BREWERY IN WEST SEATTLE
