Beveridge Place Pub Fresh Hop Fest on October 14th and other Hoptoberfest news

Beveridge Place Pub has a lot scheduled for October, including a brand new Fresh Hop Festival. On Saturday, October 14th they’ll close off the parking lot, open the gate to the beveranda, bring in a food truck and some beery games, and tap more than 30 fresh hop beers. The beers will be available in taster sizes in case you want to try a lot of them.

For years Beveridge Place Pub has hosted Hoptoberfest, a month-long celebration of locally brewed IPAs. The month of October has actually served as a tournament-style showdown that sees pub patrons drink a large assortment of Washington-brewed IPAs and vote on their favorites, a process that ultimately results in the pub naming a champion, which is then dubbed the house IPA for the upcoming year (the full-time, regular, always-on-tap IPA at the pub).

Hoptoberfest will still happen, just not at the same time. They’ve decided to move Hoptoberfest to November. Why? Because there is just too much beery goodness happening in October. Among other things, October has become a month dominated by fresh hop beers, so they decided to add the aforementioned fresh hop festival to the docket. Along with fresh hop beers, October also sees a lot of harvest ales and pumpkin beers come to market, and of course Oktoberfest deserves some recognition too.
