Beveridge Place Pub Hosting an Event Benefiting the Mounted Patrol Unit

Updated Thurs. Feb. 20 (list of raffle prizes below. An impressive list!) I love cider and I love the Beveridge Place Pub. I also love the Seattle Police Department’s big, beautiful, majestic patrol horses. This event combines all of those things into one. On Friday, February 21 (5:00 – 7:00) the Beveridge Place Pub hosts an evening of delicious ciders and beautiful horses.

Join the Beveridge Place as they showcase ciders from Virtue Cider. Greg Hall, the cider maker at Virtue, will be there to talk about his products. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Greg was the longtime brewmaster at Chicago’s Goose Island Brewing, a position he left a couple years ago as that business was headed for some major changes. Now, Greg makes cider in Michigan, which sounds much more relaxing.

This event is a benefit for the Seattle Police Mounted Patrol Unit. The unit’s seven horses are supported entirely by private funding and rely on donations to pay for care and food. The Seattle Police Foundation does what it can to provide support for these beautiful equine peacekeepers, but they need our help. (you can donate here)

At the event, you will have an opportunity to meet Wilson, the world-famous Seahawks-supporting miniature horse. Wilson will be hanging out in the pub, so NO DOGS ALLOWED. Also, next door at the park, a couple of Wilson’s playmates (Tinkerbell and Peter Pan) will be hanging out along with one of the full-size patrol horses. Kids are welcome at the park (not the pub) for photo opportunities and plenty of horse petting opportunities.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Virtue Ciders will be donated. Also, they’ll be raffling off some fun stuff. Of course, if horses and cider are not your thing, the pub will have plenty of great beer on tap for you. As always.
