Big Al Brewing Pays Homage to Homebrewers

We just learned that Big Al is releasing a beer that honors the many Americans who have a passion for zymurgy. The beer will be release this Tuesday evening, January 6th at Naked City Taphouse.

He is not really all that big, but he certainly is Al.
He's not really that big, but he certainly is Al.

Alejandro Brown (Big Al) moved to Seattle from Los Angeles and discovered the world of craft beer that so many of us take for granted. The beer bug bit him bad and homebrewing became a hobby. He made the leap from homebrewer to professional brewer last year when he (with the help of his homebrewing buddies) took over the troubled Pacific Rim Brewery in White Center. Big Al Brewing  has been pumping out the goods ever since.

Here’s the official word from Big Al’s Brewing:

“It is estimated that more than 1 million Americans enjoy the art of homebrewing. The art of creating beer at home IS the heart of the craft beer industry and we would like to pay tribute to the craftsman who make beer what it is today, the craftsman who inspire the beers we all enjoy regularly. This is why we are collaborating with a lucky homebrewer 4 times a year to deliver to you Local Hero. A beer that is formulated by a homebrewer, then scaled up and brewed on our system here at Big Al Brewing. This beer will be distributed to local pubs and beer bars for you to enjoy. You’re welcome!”
