More of a restaurant than an actual brewery, BJ’s is big in other parts of the country. They have 80 locations across the US. The company is just now making its way onto our radar screen with the opening of its second Washington location. BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is now open in Tacoma. The other Washington location is in Tukwila. They do make their own beer, or at least have someone make it for them, so they’re worthy of a mention here on the WBB.
“We are excited to open our 80th BJ’s restaurant in Tacoma,” said Jerry Deitchle, Chairman and CEO. “The Tacoma restaurant represents our second restaurant opening in the state of Washington and our 13th restaurant opening to date during 2008.”
The new BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is located at 4502 S. Steele St., Suite 1500 on the southeast corner of S. 48th Street and Tacoma Mall Boulevard, just west of I-5. The restaurant is part of the new lifestyle wing expansion at the 1.2 million square foot Tacoma Mall. The restaurant is approximately 9,000 square feet and contains seating for approximately 280 guests. BJ’s offers an extensive menu that includes BJ’s signature deep-dish pizza and their “award-winning handcrafted beer.”
BJ’s offers its guests a highly detailed, contemporary decor and a unique video statement that includes several high definition flat panel televisions. They call it, “a high energy, fun and family-friendly dining environment for everyone to enjoy.”

11:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight Sunday through Thursday
11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
