Brewfests east of the mountains this weekend

By now most of you know about the upcoming Spokane Oktoberfest event taking place this Friday and Saturday in Spokane. Fewer of you know about the Brewers’ Harvest Expo taking place in Ephrata on Saturday afternoon. Both of the events benefit a worthy cause.

The event in Spokane is presented by the Washington Beer Commission. Proceeds from Spokane Oktoberfest help the Commission promote Washington beer. The event in Ephrata is a benefit for the Marty O’Brien Memorial Scholarship Fund. So how to decide which event to attend? Why not do both?

Spokane Oktoberfest runs Friday evening and all day Saturday. You could easily attend the Friday night session of Oktoberfest and then attend the Brewers’ Harvest Expo on Saturday. Sounds like a good reason to take a Friday off work and go on a roadtrip. The weather should be excellent, so get out there and enjoy the end of summer.

The Brewers’ Harvest Expo takes place at the Grant County Courthouse in Ephrata. It will feature a number of beers that rarely make it to the west side of the mountains. Beer from breweries like Ancient Lakes Brewing of Quincy, Rocky Coulee Brewing in Odessa, and Methow Brewing in Twisp, You can find out more about the event at http://www.facebook.com/Brewersharvest
