Do you play adult league soccer? A lot of people do. The Brewmaster’s Taproom and Starfire Sports are teaming up to create a sponsorship opportunity for one adult league team. It could even be your team. The team applications are due August 29th and then there’s an event at Brewmaster’s Taproom on Thursday, September 14th at which attendees will vote for the team they want to sponsor. (We’re talking about teams that play in the Starfire league.)
Sounds like a good reason to get your team together for a night of beer drinking. Twist my arm, right? That’s why you play all that soccer, right? So you can spend some calories on beer.

Renton, WA – The Brewmaster’s Taproom is trying something new to help support Starfire Sports, a large soccer facility located in Tukwila, WA – most well-known for housing the practice facility for The Seattle Sounders, but also runs a variety of youth and adult soccer programming, including adult indoor and outdoor soccer leagues.
Brewmaster’s will be hosting a pint night to raise money to sponsor a local team for participation in Starfire’s adult leagues, and allow their customers to vote for the team they want to sponsor on Thursday, September 14th between 6:00pm and 9:00pm.
Brewmaster’s will be providing an application to current and prospective teams for all of Starfire’s adult soccer leagues. They have six questions for the team to get to know them a bit better that will be due by Tuesday, August 29th. They will then invite the top three teams to the taproom on Thursday, September 14th where the top teams will lobby friends and customers for their votes.
On Thursday, September 14th each pint that is purchased will come with a ticket. That ticket is a “vote” for the team you want us to sponsor. The teams will be required to be there to explain to you why you should vote for them. The more beers you buy, the more votes you have.
This new concept of fundraising is the brainchild of Starfire CEO, Ben Oliver. Oliver is a regular at the taproom and approached Marley Rall, owner of Brewmaster’s about trying this idea out. Oliver mused, “With Marley’s background in fundraising, I thought this would be the perfect place to attempt this new model of sponsoring local teams. If it’s successful we look forward to approaching other local taprooms, pups and breweries about sponsorship.”
Starfire Sports is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and is the epicenter of soccer in the Pacific Northwest. Located minutes from Seattle, WA; the 54-acre campus features: 12 outdoor and 2 indoor pitches, Starfire Stadium with spectator capacity of 4,000, a world-class athletic center, sports performance center and physical therapy.
The Brewmaster’s Taproom is located in Renton, WA right up the hill from Renton City Hall. They offer over 20 taps of craft beer and over 150 bottles. The kid- and dog-friendly establishment offers TVs to watch the Seahawks, Sounders and Mariners, along with a great outdoor seating area.
