Welcome to West Sound Beer Week. As places here on the east side of the pond, like Ballard and Woodinville, burst with new breweries, so too does the west side of Puget Sound. Kitsap County and the Olympic Peninsula are not strangers to the beer boom. To celebrate the blossoming beer scene in the region, an organization called the West Sound Beer Community presents the third-annual West Sound Beer Week – aka Hopstock.
Hopstock runs from June 16th through June 23rd a number of beer events will celebrate the local beer culture. The West Sound Beer Community announces the 2013 West Sound Beer Week “Hopstock” dates.
Kitsap County, WA – June 6, 2013 – Today the West Sound Beer Community announces the 3rd annual West Sound Beer week, Hopstock 2013 June 16th-23rd. The West Sound Beer Community consisting of breweries, brewpubs, bars, restaurants and retailers throughout the West Sound are excited to present a week of celebrating all things beer with numerous events and brewery features.
Ranging from brewers nights, to samplings, special limited releases, beer dinners, price features, fundraisers, a Pub crawl through Poulsbo, and even a “beer run”, the West Sound Beer community will offer daily events throughout the week following Father’s Day. The events will feature the numerous breweries that span the map of the Kitsap & Olympic Peninsula’s and the local businesses that support and offer their locally handcrafted beers.
Derek Gress of Fingers Duke Apparel, the acting coordinator of Hopstock 2013, had this to say of the event. “We have such a blossoming beer community here in the West Sound. It really stands to be celebrated and brought attention too. Hopstock is the perfect opportunity to do that and I am honored and excited to be a part of it.” Derek added “There really is community feel to how all the brewery community interacts and works together. Aside from enjoying some wonderful local fresh beer at these events, my hope is that those who participate feel like they get to become part of or even more part of that community as well.”
