Four years ago 99 Bottles opened in Federal Way. To be honest, I wondered if that location could support a world-class bottle shop. I mean, when I think of Federal Way great beer is not the first thing that comes to mind. Many other not-so-beerish things do, namely strip malls, fast-food franchises, Walmart, and so on. Turns out, 99 Bottles’ Federal Way location is perfect for a bottleshop, especially a bottleshop the caliber of 99 Bottles. If you’ve never made the trip you should stop in and see them sometime. I think you’ll agree it is one of the nicest bottleshops you’ve ever seen.
Today (Thursday, January 20th), 99 Bottles is celebrating its fourth birthday. They’ll be sampling great beers and eating delicious cupcakes from 4:00 – 8:00. Cheers to 99 Bottles! A great beer store, run by great people, and big supporters of this-here blog!
It is also the fourth birthday of one of Seattle’s most-beloved young breweries: Schooner Exact Brewing Company. It started out as a nanobrewery in an Active Space unit, which just so happened to be right down the street from the Washington Beer Blog World Headquarters. Now it has grown into a full-fledged craft brewery.
Schooner Exact has come a long way and we are proud of them. More so, we are happy for them. It has been a joy to chart their success. Today (Thursday, January 20th) they celebrate their fourth birthday with cake and beer at the Schooner Exact tasting room in Sodo from 4:00 – 8:00.
What a happy day! Happy birthday and congratulations to 99 Bottles and Schooner Exact, two of our absolute favorites!
