Chuck’s Central District Opens to The Public

Yesterday afternoon Chuck’s Central District opened its doors and welcomed the neighborhood. We were there in the afternoon and were among the first customers. To be honest, the place is still coming together but Chuck Shinn recognized that this is a desperately thirsty neighborhood that would not mind finding things a little rough around the edges. And he has beer to serve while the finishing touches come together. Like Chuck’s Hop Shop in Greenwood, this is a neighborhood beer joint worthy of much wider recognition.

“Tonight the Central District showed up in numbers that would rival our Greenwood location,” Chuck said on the new location’s Facebook page. “They met their neighbors, went out with the kids and drank beer that was brewed with passion. I am humbled by the fact that you guys treated us like family. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!”

There were just a few beers on tap last night, there will be more on tap today, and eventually there will be a total 50 draft beers from which to choose. Of course there will be hundreds of different bottles available as well. The theme here is similar to the original Chuck’s Hop Shop in Greenwood, the neighborhood vibe is the same, but the space is larger. They’ll offer beer for there, beer to go, food trucks out front, and neighbors sharing pints within. Kids welcome.

Expect a grand opening event in a couple of weeks. Also, it will be a couple of weeks before food trucks start showing up on a regular basis.
