FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Seattle, WA  – AUGUST 15, 2011 –  Tickets are now on sale for Craft:Beer+Food. The event celebrates the pairing of Seattle’s world class food and world class beer, demonstrating how locally brewed craft beers can be part of an elegant dining experience. Craft:Beer+Food introduces food lovers to good beer, beer lovers to good food. The event takes place on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Yacht Club on Lake Union, and benefits the Just Garden Project.

Ten upscale Seattle area restaurants have been paired with ten Seattle area craft breweries. The Chefs and the Brewmasters are collaborating to develop ten outstanding beer+food pairings. Each team will present its pairing—a taste of food with a sample of beer—to demonstrate how well great beer can accompany fine food.

“Foodies and beer lovers share many of the same sensibilities,” says Kendall Jones, Director of the Washington Beer Blog. “Seattle has long been recognized as a hotbed for both craft beer and fine cuisine. It’s not news to chefs and brewers, but more and more people are beginning to recognize that fine beer and fine food can be thoughtfully paired to create a fantastic dining experience.

“The concept behind Craft Beer+Food is simple: bring local chefs and brewers together and let them do the rest,” Jones says. “We want to prove that fine food does not necessarily need to be paired with wine. Beer can elevate the dining experience in the same way.”
