What to do for Christmas? We got some ideas

We are wondering who will be open on Christmas (Eve or Day). Do you know? We assume that many places will be open on Christmas Eve, but who’s got special stuff happening? Please leave a comment and tell us what you know.
Here is what we do know about this week:
Monday, Dec 21:

Beer Church Winter Beer Burcham at the Beveridge Place. A “Burcham” is little more than a party – an excuse to get together with other like-minded Beer Church folk and have a brew. This year you can honestly tell your mom, “I went to church for Christmas this year.”  Beer Church is a local group that welcomes all beer lovers and is committed to performing random (and not-so-random) acts of kindness and charity. Everyone is welcome. Beer Church is not picky. If you love beer, you are already a member. The Bev is sure to have a lot of great winter beers on tap, as well as their regular line-up (which will only cost $3.00/pint).

Winter Beer Series Kick-off at the Latona: Bob Brenlin, the owner of the Fiddler, Hopvine and Latona pubs is kicking off his Winter Beer Series at the Latona on Monday, December 21st. The Winter Beer Series will run from the Winter Solstice through the Spring Equinox, and will feature four different breweries (Big Time, Elysian, Rouge, and Pike) each brewing a special beer to serve in all three pubs. Big Time has the first few weeks of winter, and Monday’s event will kick everything off with the release of Dark Days, what they’re calling a black IPA. Big Time will also be serving a special pin of Malaprop 8 on the bar and giving away lots of Big Time stuff.

Oostkant: Time once again for an Oostkant Cask Crawl in Redmond. What is that, you might be asking? Every Wednesday the folks at Black Raven and the folks at the Malt and Vine put casks on the bar. You should contact them to find out what will be pouring and get any other details. Black Raven Web site and Malt and Vine Web site.

Half-Price Growlers: The Elliott Bay Brewery and Pub (West Seattle location only) will be filling growlers for half-price on Christmas Eve. They will be open until 7:30. This should help you get through the holiday madness with a smile on your face.

Rare Draft Night: Put the kids to bed and stroll down to Beveridge Place Pub with visions of hops and malt dancing in YOUR head!  Catherine the Great Imperial Stout,  Deschutes Abyss, Cuvee de Troll, Avery Samaels,
Schooner Exact Bourbon Hoppy Holidays. (Plus we’ll be pulling out a rather large, rather rare bottle to taste!).  www.beveridgeplacepub.com

Racer X at Mission: The big brother of Racer 5 will be making a holiday appearance at West Seattle’s Mission Latin Restaurant and Lounge. They’ve got other tasty beers on tap as well. Not to mention kick-ass margarita’s if you’re into that Jimmy Buffet “Christmas Island” kind of thing. What’s more, they’re right next door to the Porterhouse, where they’ll be pouring tons of great beer.

Friday, December 25:

The Beveridge Place Pub will be opening at 6:00 p.m. God bless them.
