Duo Brewing Celebrates Two Year Anniversary This Wednesday

Duo Brewing, the Puyallup-based nano-brewery, recently passed the two-year mark. To celebrate, they brewed a very special beer and will release it at the Airways Bistro this Wednesday.

Accoding to Duo’s Facebook page, “DUO Brewing turned two this year on October 4th. Since a brewery can be late for its own birthday, I’m releasing an American Imperial Stout with the help of Airways Brewing on this Wednesday the 30th at 6pm at the Airways Bistro in Kent.”

Dan O’Leary (Mr. Duo Brewing) says, “The beer was brewed using two mashing sessions to produce one boil kettle of wort. After fermentation the 10.4% ABV beer was aged in a fresh Rye Whiskey Barrel from Woodinville Whiskey. This produced a single keg of beer which you will only find at the Airways Bistro on October 30th.”

Dione Dittmar (Airways Bistro) described the dish that Chef Ken has devised for the occassion: “Ancho chili and cocoa rubbed smoked drumsticks with roasted potatoes and grilled carrots, served with Sky Hag BBQ sauce. Ken has been working on this for days. Even ground up the anchos himself for the rub!”
