“From adversity rises opportunity.” I wish I could say that I borrowed that quote from Lao Tzu or Sophocles, but I didn’t. I don’t think it’s attributable to anyone. It just sounds good. Right now, The Republic Bottleshop in Marysville is looking upon the current challenges with a stiff upper lip, its shoulder to the wheel, and its nose to the grindstone. Okay, enough with the cliches.
The Republic Bottleshop just opened in Marysville, Washington, aiming to provide the community with a great selection of beer, cider, and seltzer from the Northwest and beyond. Right out of the gate, they’re offering beer (bottles, cans, growlers) to go, and this Friday, May 2nd they’ll start delivery service.
Obviously, The Republic Bottleshop owners faced considerable challenges to get their business up and running in the middle of the challenges presented by the pandemic.

“There are always issues when you create something new,” said co-owner Doug Hall. “But by thinking creatively and adapting our operating procedures we are trying to be a positive force in our community. If you can’t come to the bar, let us bring the bar to you.”
The Republic Bottleshop is open daily from noon until 6:00 PM pickup. They’ll start delivering to residents of Marysville and North Everett on Friday, May 1st. Order online at www.marysville.beer.
“We want to be a safe and awesome option for people to get great beverages,” said co-owner TJ Borden. “So we’re open for pickup and delivering every day. We’re limiting the number of people in the shop. We’re taking steps to ensure everyone’s safety.”
The Republic Bottleshop selection includes hundreds of bottles and cans. Also, growler fills available to go and for delivery.
“Our region has deep roots when it comes to amazing craft beer,” said Hall. “We want to highlight what our local breweries can produce, and showcase the best of the rest of the world’s offerings.”
