The concept has been proven across the centuries: people like to play games while they drink beer. Thus, taverns have always offered beer drinkers gaming opportunities with things like pool tables, dartboards, video games, and so on. Flatstick Pub takes it to another level. Along with its signature, golf-themed games, Flatstick serves up a world-class selection of beers at its three locations (Kirkland, Pioneer Square, and South Lake Union).
“Bellingham was our top choice when we were deciding the next location for Flatstick Pub,” said Sam Largent, Founder and CEO of Flatstick Pub. “We love the strong sense of community in Bellingham, the many outstanding local breweries, and the energy found in a college town. We’re excited to bring Flatstick to such a fun and unique city.”
The company anticipates opening the Bellingham location in early 2020. In addition to mini-golf, the 6,000 square foot space will feature original golf-themed games invented by Flatstick, including Duffleboard ™, Ball Jockey ™, and a brand new game currently in development. The new pub will offer about 30 taps pouring only independent, locally made beer, cider, and wine. Bellingham’s Flatstick Pub will be located at 902 N. State Street.
As they’ve done in the past, Flatstick Pub will partner with acclaimed Seattle restaurateur Ethan Stowell (Ethan Stowell Restaurants) to develop the food menu. The Bellingham location plans to be open to gamers of all ages until 7:00 PM daily (adults only thereafter). Dogs will also be welcome.
Flatstick Pub is owned by Washington natives Sam, Andy, and Jeni Largent. The first location opened in Kirkland in 2014. Since then, they’ve opened two other locations: Pioneer Square and South Lake Union. The new location in Spokane is slated to open later this year and the new location in Tacoma will open in early 2020.
