Follow up: 12 String Brewing Company

Last week we posted information about some new breweries and some planned breweries: 3 New Breweries Open, More Planned. Today we’re sharing more information regarding 12 String Brewing that came to us as a comment on that original post.

Pickin’ and Grinnin’ at 12 String

Among my diverse and countless talents, I am a guitar player. At one time, I owned a 12 string guitar. I never really got the hang of playing it and the 12 string never found a place onstage with my classic rock cover band (Four on the Floor). Every time I picked it up, I found myself compelled to play Sweet Madame Blue by Styx. Ya, I know. That’s kind of embarrassing, so I sold the 12 string.

Hopefully I’ll have less trouble drinking beer from 12 String Brewing. I’d say it’s pretty likely, especially since they’re planning to give their beers cool guitar-themed names like Electric Slide IPA and Drop D Stout.

12 String Brewing intends to open in Spokane Valley (just a few clicks east of Spokane proper). Here is what Terry Hackler has shared thus far.

Hi Everyone,

12 String String Brewing Co is happy to tell you that we are indeed for real.  We are looking to be open by mid year 2011. We are currently working on the remodel of our space and various pieces of equipment are starting to arrive. We will have a 7bbl brew system and a taproom located at the brewery. Check out our website for more info and to sign up on our mailing list so you can receive updates on our progress.

Cheers to our sponsors, like...

  1. Just wanted to put the word out there that we finally received all of our licenses and are putting the finishing touches on the brewery and expect to brew our first batch about September 14th or so. It has been a long and grueling process getting everything in place. We are kind of doing it the hard way as we have built everything including our 7 bbl brew system from scratch.
Stay tuned for an announcement of our taproom opening date.

  2. We brewed our third batch yesterday! Our Electric Slide IPA. Our first batch is now ready for release. It’s called Roundabout Confusion Harvest Ale. A nice sweet early winter warmer with a touch of chocolate flavor. Kind of like a light porter. Look for it around Spokane in the next few days and ask your favorite pub for our beers and we will do our best to get them on.
