The Seattle-based brewery and taproom was founded in 2009 by Matt Lincecum and Sara Nelson and is now the fastest-growing brewery in Washington. Winner of countless awards, including the World Beer Cup; the Great American Beer Festival (most recently last year for their Field To Ferment Fresh Hop ale); a Gold medal at the Great Alaska Winter Beer and Barleywine Festival; RateBeer’s 2016 “100 Best Breweries in the World” award; and many medals at the famous Festival of Barrel-Aged Beers (FOBAB). Fremont’s brews include their Universale Pale Ale; Interurban IPA, WA’s best-selling craft beer; and seasonal single-hop, single grain favorite, Summer Ale; as well as Bourbon Barrel Aged Abominable (“BBomb”); Bourbon Barred Aged Dark Star; the legendary Rusty Nail, a bourbon barrel aged beer brewed with licorice and aged on cinnamon bark before resting in 15-year old barrels for 15 months; GABF Silver Medal winner Field to Ferment Fresh Hop Pale.

In addition to its reputation for consistent quality and innovation, Fremont Brewing is a recognized leader in sustainable brewing operations and community engagement such as giving generously to non-profit organizations, promoting the organic hop and local grain markets, and reducing their carbon footprint through conservation and green technologies. It is for these and many other initiatives that they won Washington’s Manufacturer of the Year Award for 2015 and King County’s Best Small Business Award in 2014.
