Fresh Hop Beer 2020 – our list of beers, availability, etc

Because so many people love fresh hop beer so much, we decided to keep a running list of beers available in 2020. In most cases, we are simply sharing the information as we found it on social media, or as we received it via email. We leave you to your own devices to gather more info about the stuff that piques your interest. We’ll update the list as info comes in.

Sept. 15th – “…we are releasing the second of our fresh hop offerings today, our Embrace the Resin Amarillo Fresh Hop IPA brewed with some amazing hops from the great folks at Loza Farms . A special shout out to Virgil Gamache Farms, Inc for cultivating one of our all-time favorite varieties and a staple in our brewhouse.”


Sept. 10th – “Yakima Valley Fresh Hop IPA. Abv~ 6.2 — Fresh, floral and vibrant on the nose with hints of citrus fruits, Yakima Valley Fresh Hop IPA expresses a perfect blend of hop character that is both bold and nuanced. Hopped with Centennial and Simcoe. Available on draft and in cans for a limited time.”


“Acorn Brewing has already released (9/8/20) “I’m Not Dead Yet”, a fresh hopped pale, rife with Cascade and Willamette Hops, bringing a citrus and mint nose and flavor to this American Pale Ale. “Let’s Get Kraken” will be released 9/22, an American IPA that had been dry hopped with fresh from the bine Chinook Hops, bringing a nose of pine resin and citrus to a nicely balanced ale.”


Sept. 17 – “Fresh hop season has arrived! Brewed with help from our friends over at @growingveterans, our fresh hop IPA Charlie Foxtrot is back for year 3! For this years batch we harvested over a hundred pounds of hops— using a mixture of Cascade, Centennial, Crystal, and Columbus fresh hops for this particular batch. This beer will not last long, as fresh hops are best consumed, well… fresh.”


Sept. 15th – “Our first Fresh Hop IPA of the season, Homegrown Beer, is on our website for pre-order now! Grab it while you can, this puppy is going to go fast. ”

Sept. 22nd – “It’s a triple release whammy of a weekend! Starting with the release of Desert Bite IPA on Thursday at our 3-6pm curbside, you can say goodbye to summer and hello to cozy clothes, beers with higher ABVs, and ski season just around the corner. At Friday’s 3-6pm curbside, we’re continuing the release of our fresh hops with cult favorite Piled High Imperial Fresh Hop. This is VERY limited so we’re doing a 1 growler/person deal – first come first serve. And finally, wrapping up our stacked release weekend with the much anticipated Citra Slicker release on Saturday at the 12-5pm drive-thru. AS IF that wasn’t enough to entice you, this is our very last drive-thru of the season! Starting in October, our Saturday hours will be curbside pickup (it’s too cold to stand out there all day!). Sept. 15th – “GOOFY BOOTS FRESH HOP IPA is on tap now! Brewed with 300 lbs. of Centennial Fresh Hops!”


Sept. 15th – Later this week they release Cone Wars: Amarillo Fresh Hop. Starting on September 23rd, you can pick up cans of their Cone Wars: Strata Fresh Hop. BOH cans some of its beer but offers crowlers and growlers to go at the brewery’s taproom in W. Seattle.

Sept. 24th – “Available today in 16oz cans (no draft): Cone Wars: Strata Fresh Hop IPA.”


Sept. 18th – “Available today in cans and on draft! Our Fresh Hop beer for 2020 is brewed exclusively with with El Dorado hops which were picked and kiln dried at Roy Farms in Moxee, Washington. We started by adding some fresh hops to the whirlpool and then dry-hopped it with even more to squeeze every last bit of fresh goodness into the beer as we could. The finished product is richly juicy, allowing you to enjoy the full flavor profile of El Dorado with a lower overall bitterness. 6.0% ABV, 40 IBU. Fresh Hop is available in 4-packs of 16oz cans as well as on draft.”


Sept. 14th – “Fresh Hop season is upon us! Swing by the new Kirkland Urban taproom & snag a 4-pack of the Italia Fresh Hop Pilsner before it’s too late. ”


Sept. 18th – BEEEYUUUU BEEEYUUUU URNNNGH…FRESH HOP ALERT! FRESH HOP ALERT! THIS IS NOT A DRILL. TWO ON SALE TODAY! Last year, Aqua Seafoam Shame took home a bronze medal at the GABF in the Fresh Hop category. So this year….we didn’t change a fuckin’ thing! Same clean malt bill, same WET STRATA from Goschie Farms, Inc. , same snappy, bright, tropical, citrusy, sticky freshness. What else should we be? What else could we say? What else could we write? Lots of things. All in all is all we are…” read more on Facebook, but know that the beer is happening


Sept. 24th – “We are releasing the draft on September 25th and it will be available in pint cans on October 6th. Here are the details: Centennial Fresh Hop IPA, 6% ABV, 45 IBU. Hops: Freshly Harvested Centennial. Grains: Pale Malt, White Wheat Malt, Caramel, Flaked Barley. Brewed within 24 hours of harvest, this beer is a celebration of hops that provide so much joy in our lives. As a harbinger of the changing season, enjoy the fruits of summer while fresh. ”


Sept. 25th – “Sabro hazy ipa released last Friday.  Mosaic west coast ipa comes out tomorrow. Citra west coast IPA and Chinook west coast are to be released on October 2nd. Idaho 7 pale will be released by October 8th.”

Sept. 25th – “Literally our favorite beer we brew all year long – GROWN4U – gets tapped this Friday, today. There might be a certain hazy named after our dog that might be ready too! Every city in the world is jealous of Yakima this time of the year!”


Sept. 10th – “Our Centennial Fresh Hop IPA is now available on draft at both locations. We are extremely lucky to live so close to the hop capital of world. This beer was made with Centennial hops from @cornerstoneranches in Toppenish, WA. These hops were picked on the morning of the brew day which provides a very earthy, dank, and piney characteristic that is iconic to a fresh hop beer. Get it while it lasts!”


Sept. 18th – “Head Stash Fresh Hop IPA. Everybody’s Brewing will be releasing their Head Stash Fresh Hop IPA this Friday, September 18th, in 12oz cans and draft. This year’s Head Stash, ringing in at 6.6% ABV and 69 BUs, is packed with fresh Simcoe Hops from Loza Farms of Yakima, WA. Cans and draft will be available at various bottle shops and bars throughout Oregon and Washington, as well as their pub in White Salmon, WA. This year’s Simcoe hops add their classic combination of both flavor and bittering qualities to the beer. A big piney aroma is met with and resinous flavor and a medium body.”




Oct. 1st – “We have released our Fresh Hop. FRESH HOP Harvest Ale. Brewed with fresh hops picked the day of brewing from co-op members’ gardens. Fermented with a Scottish ale yeast. 5.2%. alc. Indeterminate IBU’s


Sept. 25th – Fri, Sat – October 9th & 10th – (4pm – 5pm) – This week’s featured Fn beers – Fresh Hops ! This year we brewed 2 different fresh hop beers – Fn 2020 English Fresh Hop 5.2% ABV – 50 IBU and Fn 2020 American Fresh Hop 6.1% ABV – 74 IBU. Both of these beers feature hops grown at the Fn Hop Farm and 4 other locations (all within 3 miles of the brewery). Harvested and added to the beer all on the same day. You can’t get any fresher hoppiness than this. All beer is available with pre-ordered, pre-paid growler fills and bottle sales, sorry no consumption on site. Sept. 22nd – “Fresh Hop drop today! Cowiche Canyon fresh hop ale releases at 5 PM at the Urban Beer Garden. Only one beer comes out of the Cowiche Canyon, and this is it. ”


Hulka Fresh Hop IPA is now available! Released on Sept 14th. Available in growlers at the taproom. It’s damn good so hurry! Freshly picked Sabro hops from Roy Farms.


Hale’s Ales Operation Hop Drop Amarillo Fresh Hop IPA lands on Tuesday 9/22. Fresh picked Amarillo hops flown direct from the hop fields to Hale’s boil kettle maximizing fresh hop flavor and aroma. Available on draft and in 12-oz cans.

Sept. 19th – “Strata Fresh Hop was brewed with Two Row and Pilsner malt, with additions of malted spelt and oats in the mash. Hopped with fresh Strata provided by our friends at Roy Farms in Moxee, WA. Dangerously drinkable with flavor and aromas reminiscent of ripe tropical fruit and freshly clipped cannabis.”


Sept. 24th – “Fresh Hop is here! Made with over 700 pounds of fresh Citra, this year’s Fresh Hop IPA is an exuberant and exciting beer. Golden straw in color, with a soft white head, it is citrus and orchard fruit forward, with subtle notes of pine, tropical fruits, and herbal / grassy fresh hop notes. We recommend drinking this unique beer immediately!”


They released a Strata Fresh Hop beer on September 5th.


Sept. 10th – “Our very first WET HOP IPA is on tap today! Button SMaSH is a single hop single malt IPA made with 100% Centennial Hops and Golden Promise british malt! We worked with Crosby Hop farms to get some of their first harvest Centennial hops shipped straight from the farm.”


Sept. 15th – Today they are releasing Fresh Hop IPA and Fresh Hop Pilsner. “Unfortunately we will be doing TO-GO ONLY through Thursday due to predicted air quality. We’re hoping to get back to serving on our Beer Patio for the weekend, but in the meantime, you can grab some 4-packs and growlers to enjoy at home! (6% ABV, 34 IBU).”


Sept. 15th – “… our first canned fresh hop beer of the season hit shelves this week. As always our first of the year is Community Supported Agricultural this year featuring hops from CLS Farms and Roy Farms along with malt from our pals up at Skagit Valley Malting”




Sept. 13th – “El Dorado Fresh Hop!! Available this wknd only at the Taproom….. 191 crowlers left!!!! We tapped this small batch of 77 gallons for the wknd (the math….394 crowlers). Come by and grab a 25 oz crowler or 64 oz growler today!”


Sept. 27 – “Moonshot Brewing has released Homegrown Player, a 5.9% fresh hop Hazy Pale Ale brewed with fresh Cashmere hops grown by Puterbaugh Farms a mile and a half from Head Brewer Ryan’s boyhood home.“


Sept. 10th – “Fresh Hop Simcoe Hop IPA with our added homegrown hops for good measure! One should never pass up the chance to drink a fresh hopped beer as their time on this planet is short.”


Sept. 15 – “Wet Season: Sabro IPA. First in a series of FIVE fresh hop beers we’re releasing this year, our 7.1% ABV Sabro freshie is absolutely erupting in coconut aroma. …While we’re still doing to go only until the smoke clears, crowlers and growler fills of the Sabro will start tonight! Stay tuned for four more iterations of Wet Season, starting with Strata tomorrow, and Mosaic, Citra, and Idaho 7 in the coming days and weeks.”


(September 15) “Moments ago Fresh Hop Crikey was delivered to our Taproom and To-Go Store and is now available for walk-up or online purchases!

(Sept. 22) – “It’s going to be a big week for fresh hops! Today at noon we are releasing Fresh Hop Hazealicious, which joins FH Crikey and FH Puffs of Simcoe on tap and in crowlers to-go at our Taproom and To-Go store. Come pick up an armful to take home! You can also order on our online store for pickup. Keep a close eye on our social media as we’ll have Fresh Hop Double Crush releasing sometime this week in our Taproom (and soon after in distro)! As with FH Crikey cans (which are unfortunately sold out) we’ll make these available within an hour or so of it being packaged! FRESH FRESH FRESH. Oh, and there may be another draft-only Fresh Hop surprise too, so keep your eyes peeled”


Sept. 13th – “Fresh Hop Strata Pale Ale is deeeelicious! Come get some! Sat/Sun, 2-8pm.”


Sept. 23rd – Citra Fresh Hop IPA release tomorrow. Available in cans at the brewery. Find Seapine on social media for more info.


Sept. 14th – “Our first FRESH HOP of the season has arrived. We have brought back our award-winning THE ECSTASY OF GREEN in all it’s Spaghetti Western glory! We used Centennial and Idaho Gem from @wenas_hop_company , Cascade from @wvanhornfarms and a splash of Strata from @royfarms_hops to round things out. It’s a classic that is still fresh and green. On draft at the taproom now and coming soon to store shelves around the PNW.”


September 23 – Sound to Summit Brewing is releasing “Bine to Brew Fresh Hop IPA”, our annual fresh hop IPA release. This year we used Freshly picked Sabro hops from Loftus Ranches. This beer is tropical with just a hint of coconut, resinous, and beautifully aromatic. 7.3% ABV.


Sept 15th – Fresh Hop Strata IPA hit the streets yesterday. Get it at the taproom or look for it in cans at retailers.


Sept. 11th – “Introducing our Strata Fresh Hop Lager (4.5% ABV) We fresh-hopped this beer with Oregon Strata hops using the process of cryo freezing whole cone hops and crushing them, creating a lager that’s crisp and refreshing with a light bite and delicate fruit aromas.”


Sept. 15th – “… Our first 2 #freshhop beers dropped yesterday so you can still grab some centennial & strata…”

Sept. 22nd – “Two new Fresh Hop Beers available Tuesday! And a sweet tee to go with!
Simcoe Fresh Hop 2020 Packed with 300 pounds of Simcoe. &
El Dorado Fresh Hopped Italian Pilsner made extra special by dry hopping with 50 lbs of freshly harvested El Dorado hops!”


Fresh Hop IPA released a couple weeks ago. Available in cans and on tap at The Woods Tasting Room. Look for it at beer retailers.


Sept. 17 – On tap at the taproom. “Community Fresh Hop Pale Wheat with fresh Centennial and fresh Cascade hops. 6.2% ABV. This is our first fresh hop and what is fresher than your neighborhood gardens? We are using hops from Oxbow Farms, grain from Carnation Farms, and more hops from YOU!”

Wander released its 400 Cents Fresh Hop Pale Ale on September 3rd. Available in cans. On tap at the brewery. Brewed with 400 lbs of fresh Centennial hops.


The brewery will release Waggle Dance, its fresh hop IPA on September 23rd. Visit their website or find them on social media for more info.


Sept. 23rd – Zeeks collaborated with a couple local breweries this year to produce some Zeeks-exclusive fresh hop beers. You can read all about it, and what else they have going on for the season, here.
