Fundraiser for Water Street at the Bev Thursday

There was a silent auction fundraiser in Port Townsend a couple weeks ago. Most of you were not there. I know you all feel awful about missing it. Well here is your chance to make up for it. As reported in the latest pub mail from the Beveridge Place Pub, and as reported by our friends at the Pickled Liver, this Thursday evening there will be a fundraiser for Water Street Brewing. The event is coupled with the Beveridge Place Pub’s Herbert’s release party. The fun gets started Thursday, March 19th, at 6:00 PM.

“We want to make sure we can keep getting Queen Nina IPA, Burr’s Frosty Ale, and Old Wookie Barleywine for years to come,” says Gary Sink, publican at The Bev. “We’ll have loads of glassware, t-shirts, hats and gift certificates from a variety of breweries for you to win.”

The Beveridge Place scheduled its Herbert’s release party weeks ago; however, they have now decided to use the event to help support their friends from Port Townsend who have fallen on rough economic times lately. As readers of the WBB know, they are facing tough times in Port Townsend. Not only are they feeling the pangs of the global economic downturn, but they are also suffering from a drastic reduction in ferry service to their historic town. Now the state plans to shut down the Hood Canal Bridge for several weeks this spring. Oye!

Come show your support. Queen Nina must survive!

  1. Well, I gave them a try… a 2nd chance in fact. Stopped in there yesterday shortly after they opened. One guy in the back room didn’t bother to turn around to see who entered… I stood alone at the unattended bar for 5 minutes… screw it, I left. Maybe there’s a reason they are struggling – ya gotta have decent service even if you have the best product in the world. I’m done with these guys…
