Geaux Brewing and Wayward Owl Brewing collaborating this weekend in New Orleans

Weather got you down? Just need some time out of town? Is your wild inner-self whispering, “New Orleans?” Want to surprise your significant other with a last minute jaunt across the country? Well then, why not catch a direct flight out of SeaTac and head down south this weekend? What the hell? The weather man says you can expect sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s. Sounds pretty good right about now, eh?

Justin Boswell, aka Shiny, worked at Black Raven Brewing for years. A couple years back, he decided to move to New Orleans and open a brewery of his own: Wayward Owl Brewing.

Jeremy Hubbel, owner and honcho at Geaux Brewing in Bellevue, is a friend of Shiny’s. If you’ve ever visited the brewery and taproom in Bellevue, you might have noticed that there’s an unmistakable New Orleans theme at Geaux Brewing. That’s because Jeremy is from… you guessed it… New Orleans.

This weekend Jeremy will be in New Orleans to brew a collaboration beer with Shiny. On Facebook, Jeremy invited y’all to join him.

“NOLA/Southern Louisiana peeps, listen up! We will be visiting our pals at Wayward Owl Brewing Company this coming Sunday, March 19th to do a collaboration beer for the first time on their brewhouse! Come out and meet the owner/head brewer of both breweries and see some craftiness (and probably some shenanigans) at work. Doors open at noon and not only will there be beer flowing, Clesi’s Restaurant & Catering will be doing a crawfish boil on site. Craft beer and crawfish? Is there a better way to spend a Sunday in New Orleans?”

Crawfish and craft beer. That sounds like a winning combination.

We can dream, at least.
