Gig Harbor Brewing announces first anniversary party on November 19

Congratulations to Gig Harbor Brewing, which celebrates its one-year anniversary on Saturday, November 19th. The party starts at 4:00 PM at the brewery’s taproom in Tacoma and “will end when it ends,” according to John Fosberg, the owner of Gig Harbor Brewing. The event features raffle prizes, beer specials, beer releases, food, and live music throughout the afternoon and evening.

“One can be an important milestone,” according to the company’s press release. “Making it to one in the craft brewery business can be an uphill, roller-coaster, fly by the seat of your pants ride that never seems to let up for a solid 12 months. And that 365-day journey is exactly what Gig Harbor Brewing Co. will be celebrating…”

“We wanted to celebrate all the things we’ve accomplished this year,” said Fosberg. In particular he points to things like, “producing some excellent ales under the skillful hands of Head Brewer, Mike O’Hara, signing a distribution deal with Olympic Eagle Distributing last May, and just recently installing two new 20-barrel fermentors. But mostly we wanted to take some time to thank all of our loyal customers who have discovered us and supported us over the past year. This party really is for them.”

Singer/songwriter Kristen Marlo starts out the day’s entertainment, with the Cottonwood Cutups continuing the live music into the evening.

New 22-oz. bottles of Gig Harbor’s Round Rock IPA and Imperial Stout should be available for sale in the taproom the day of the party, with a new batch of their popular barrel-aged stout available as well, although only on tap and in a very limited quantity.
