Gig Harbor Brewing doubles production capabilities after just 9 months

After nine months of brewing, Gig Harbor Brewing is expanding to nearly double its production capabilities. The brewery in Tacoma recently installed two new 20-barrel fermenters. The expansion comes after only nine months of brewing by head brewer, Mike O’Hara, and a distribution agreement with Olympic Eagle Distributing signed in May for Pierce, Mason, Kitsap, Thurston, Grays Harbor, and Pacific Counties.

“Mike has done a fantastic job in the brewery,” said owner John Fosberg, “and the quality of the beer has been a big hit in our taproom and in many bars and restaurants across Olympic Eagle’s territory. Mike is a big reason for our early success, and we are very, very lucky to have him here.”

Mr. O’Hara has more than 14 years of experience as a commercial brewing and most recently worked at Georgetown Brewing for eight years before joining Gig Harbor in the fall of last year.
