Gig Harbor Brewing honors beloved local band The Beatniks with a new beer

The Beatniks have blessed the Northwest with their rendition of classic rock for more than 30 years. Focusing on the music of the 60s and 70s, The Beatniks have gained a large and loyal audience that includes the folks at Gig Harbor Brewing. The brewery recently announced that it is releasing a Beatniks beer, Psychedelic Berry Blonde, this Saturday, November 3rd.

Here’s the release announcement from Gig Harbor Brewing, with info about Saturday’s release event at the company’s Harbor Taproom in Gig Harbor.

The City of Gig Harbor loves their beatniks – always packing downtown’s Skansie Brothers Park and any available water nearby with dancing folks and rocking boats when the band performs there every summer.

Now the residents of the Maritime City have a beer to celebrate their love of the beatniks all year long. This Saturday, Gig Harbor Brewing is releasing their new Beatniks Psychedelic Berry Blonde. A wild-berry version of their best-selling blonde ale.

All of the members of the band have ties to Gig Harbor, and brewery owner John Fosberg thought it was natural that they provide a local beer that pays homage to some of the City’s favorite rock & roll sons.

The beer has a limited release and will initially be available only in the Harbor Taproom in Gig Harbor for the “Very Psychedelic Berry Blonde Release Party” on Saturday, November 3, from 5PM-7PM. The Harbor Taproom will be offering special pricing for the new beer during the event, plus, beer tastings, raffle prizes, and wheel spins for beer discounts. Lead guitarist for the beatniks, Mark Nelson, is planning on stopping by during the festivities.
