Here’s the Lineup for Hardliver Barleywine Fest 2014 – Kickoff is Saturday

brouwer's cafe hardliver festival

UPDATE (Monday, March 17): In addition to being a barleywine festival, Hardliver is a judged competition. A panel of judges scores the beers in a blind tasting format. Here are the results from last Saturday’s judging:

1. Anchorage Deal with the Devil.
2. Lost Abbey Angels Share Grand Cru.
3. Firestone Sucaba.
4. A 3-way tie : Green Flash, Midnight Sun, and Alameda.

ORIGINAL POST: I admit, it’s not the full list, but we just received a partial beer list (53 barleywines) for the 12th Annual Hardliver Barleywine Festival at Brouwer’s Cafe. Even if this were the complete list, it would be staggering. No doubt, Brouwer’s has some surprises in addition to what we’ve listed below.

The event that people usually refer to simply as Hardliver kicks off this Saturday, March 15th when the doors open at 11:00 a.m. Expect a line to form hours before that. Likely, before daylight. Expect a crowd all day and likely all weekend. This is a wildly popular event.
