Hi-Fi Brewing Celebrates the Return of Rain

Redmond’s newest brewery, Hi-Fi Brewing, opened in August during one of the driest, warmest Seattle summers on record. We were there to visit the new brewery when it opened (see our post here). Today we learn that Hi-Fi Brewing is welcoming the onset of the rainy seasons. “We love rain because it provides water, and without water we couldn’t make beer.” Good point.

Here is a press release from Hi-Fi Brewing about this Saturday’s celebration.

“We love the rain because it provides water, and without water we couldn’t make beer.” said Ryan McGee, Vice President of Marketing. “Besides, those blue summer skies can be oppressively wide open. A blanket of clouds just makes everyone around here feel a little more safe and secure.”

The celebration also serves as a grand opening for the brewery, which opened its doors to the public in August.

“We’ve had an extended soft opening, you could say,” McGee quipped.

The party will mark the taproom debut of two new Hi-Fi beers:

Oktoberfest – The Hi-Fi take on the traditional German fest bier, this example is is full bodied and has a soft, rich malty flavor. With an aroma reminiscent bread crust and a beautiful deep gold color courtesy of Vienna and Munich malts, this beer is a treat for all your senses. Alcohol: 6.3% ABV, Bitterness: 28 IBU.

Pump Up the Volume – This pumpkin ale is brewed with fresh Washington pumpkin from Imperial Garden Farm in Wapato, and spiced with cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, and vanilla. A blast of pumpkin pie aroma introduces you to this full-bodied and fairly malty beer. It finishes with a very subtle ginger warmth. Alcohol: 6.8% ABV, Bitterness: 35 IBU.

The brewery owners will be on hand to offer tours of the facility, and raffles will provide attendees a chance to win prizes.

The event runs from 12pm to 10pm on Saturday October 12th.
