Hi-Fi Brewing Company Introduces its Head Brewer: Mike Davis

Hi-Fi Brewing Company is putting the finishing touches on its brewing system and getting closer to brewing its first batches of beer at its brewery in Redmond. Today we learned that the company has made a critical acquisition that will get them even closer to actually stirring the mash: the company has secured the services of an experienced head brewer. Many people will recognize Mike Davis for the many great beers he’s brewed at Tacoma’s Harmon Brewing Company. To put it in Sacramento/NBA terms, Hi-Fi just landed a whale.

“We are thrilled to announce Mike Davis is joining the team as our head brewer,” said Ryan McGee, Vice President of Marketing at Hi-Fi Brewing. “Mike comes most recently from Harmon Brewing in Tacoma, Washington, where he was the head brewer for 15 years. At Harmon, Mike’s beers garnered several medals at the Great American Beer Festival as well as multiple regional and local awards. His passion, dedication to high quality, and professional achievements make him a perfect fit for us here at Hi-Fi.”

Davis began home brewing in 1989. After graduating from the American Brewers Guild, he left a career in aquatic biology and a home in Hawaii to begin his career as a professional brewer. Mike is a well-respected member of the beer community here in Washington and across the Pacific Northwest. He is one of the founding members of the Washington Brewers Guild. When not brewing beer, he can usually be found playing tennis (at a level that has earned him three trips to the United States Tennis Association national championship), walking his dog Iz, or playing his ukulele.

“This incredibly important addition to the Hi-Fi team comes at the perfect time – as we put the finishing touches on our brewing system,” said McGee. “We are just weeks away from brewing the inaugural batch of Hi-Fi beer now, and we couldn’t be more excited about having Mike here to do it. ”
