Hop Scotch Spring Beer & Scotch Fest – a rite of spring

The official name is Hop Scotch Spring Beer & Scotch Festival, but people usually just refer to it as Hop Scotch: Seattle’s annual celebration of beer, Scotch, whiskey, and wine.  It’s a rite of spring around here, and although spring seems to have sprung early this year, Hop Scotch happened on April 3rd and 4th in Fremont.

More than 20 breweries will pour at the event. For more info and to get your tickets, click here. When checking out, use the code WABEER to get three extra tasting tokens.

Yes, there will be lots of beer at the event, but more than that. Hop Scotch offers a Scotch vertical tasting flight and a Northwest Whiskies Flight. The Scotch and Whiskey novice or expert can sample six vintage Scotches or six Northwest Whiskies side-by-side to detect the subtle nuances and different expressions of these classic malt beverages. Scotch experts will be on-hand to guide you through this one-of-a-kind tasting experience.

That’s not all. Scotch Seminars will be led by Master of Scotch Peter H. Karras. Seminars will include 10 Scotches from The Glenlevit, Aberlour and Chivas families.

Food will be available from Lumpia World, one of Seattle’s beloved food trucks.

Proceeds benefit the Fremont Chamber of Commerce’s community grant programs. On April 3 and 4, indoors at Fremont Studios, Hop Scotch hosts the ultimate pop-up bar complete with tailor made tasting experiences certain to delight every guests’ palate.
