IPA Cask-O-Rama starts tomorrow at the Beveridge Place Pub

It’s one of the best beer events of the year, in my opinion anyway. It combines two of the best things in life: cask-conditioned beer and Washington-brewed IPA. It makes me feel very old to say that this will be the 12th Annual Cask-O-Rama at the Beveridge Place Pub. I remember when it was quite an intimate little affair, with maybe 8 to 12 casks on the bar. Now, there will be more than 20!

The two-day affair starts tomorrow, Thursday, December 7th at 6:00. They’ll lovingly hold the casks over night and re-tap them on Friday at 6:00. Beers will be available in full-pours or by taster flights.

On Thursday night they will also announce the winner of HOPvemberfest, a tournament-like competition that saw dozens of beers compete (by customer ballots) for the chance to be the house IPA at the Beveridge Place for an entire year. In other words, it’s the always-on-tap IPA for 2018. The finalists were Airways Brewing Jumbo Juice, Georgetown Brewing Bodhizafa, and Reuben’s Brews Crikey. Tomorrow we will know the winner.
