It’s Official. Everett Gets a Craft Beer Festival this Summer

We broke the news a couple weeks ago. Everett is getting a Washington beer festival this summer. The Everett Craft Beer Festival is scheduled for Saturday, August 18th and is presented by the Washington Beer Commission. It will be fashioned after last summer’s inaugural Bremerton Summer Brewfest, which was attended by nearly 4,000 people. When we first told you about the Everett event back on March 14th, the ink had not yet dried on the contract. Today the Commission made the official announcement via a press release. Here it is:

Washington Beer Commission Announces New Everett Event!

Craft Beer Tasting Festival Set for Saturday, August 18, 2012

Seattle, WA – The Washington Beer Commission is proud to announce that it will add a new craft beer tasting event in Everett, WA to its festival calendar. The Everett Craft Beer Festival will take place Saturday, August 18, 2012, between noon and 8pm in downtown Everett. At least twenty-four Washington state breweries are expected to be on hand pouring more than 60 unique craft beer creations. There will also be live music and food available at the event which will take place on Hoyt Ave. between Pacific Ave. and Hewitt Ave. in the recently refurbished arts district in downtown Everett.

“We are so excited to be chosen by the Washington Beer Commission for one of their coveted annual craft beer festivals,” said Lanie McMullin, executive director at the City of Everett. “Bringing the Craft Beer Festival to Everett will not only provide another fun amenity for our community, but also will showcase our city to attendees from all over the Puget Sound Region. Cheers!”

The commission’s inaugural Everett Craft Beer Festival will hope to emulate the successful Bremerton Summer Beer Fest which had 3,900 attendees at its inaugural July 2011 event in downtown Bremerton. Tasting festivals are the primary source of income for the Washington Beer Commission with all proceeds going toward the promotion of Washington beer.
