Kendall’s Beer Fest Kill List – what I’ll be hunting this weekend

Yesterday I posted a story about the new breweries you should expect to see at the fest. Today I share some of the more interesting and uncommon beers that I’ll be hunting at the Washington Brewers Festival this weekend. Likely there will be a lot of beers at the fest about which I am not yet aware, but given what I know so far, this is my kill list.

As I said about yesterday’s Beer Fest Strategy post, this is my personal list. If it serves a less selfish purpose, and is of some value to you, that’s okay too.

Aslan Brewing – Organic Ginger Rye, (FRI). Organic Head of Security Sour Brindle.

Bale Breaker Brewing – Raging Ditch Dry-Hopped Blonde Ale. Blondes may be more fun, but they can also be really boring, but when Bale Breaker adds hops to anything, magic happens.

Bellevue Brewing – Friday night casks: Cask of Pineapple Infused IPA and Cask of Mango IPA.

Black Raven Brewing – (FRI) Great Grandfather Raven Imperial Stout. Why? Uh, duh. Just, duh.

Boundary Bay Brewery – Steady as She Gose Wheat Sour.

Diamond Knot – Imperial Chocolate Vanilla Oatmeal Stout (nitro).

Dick’s Brewing – Raspberry Tripel-Belgian Style Tripel (Sat. & Sun.).

E9 Brewery – Wild Tacoma #2.

Elliott Bay Brewing – All four of the beers their bringing sound very interesting,

Elysian Brewing – Hot Tropic Pineapple Habanero Sour. I love spicy things and this does not sound like your typical Anheuser-Busch product.

Fremont Brewing – Show offs! They’re bringing so many different, interesting beers.  Rotating all weekend.

Georgetown Brewing – Two new IPAs, Bodhizafa and Warchild. And they’re named after characters from Point Break, like Johnny Utah.

Iron Goat Brewing – Both of the Dry Fly barrel-aged beers. This brewery excels at brewing big ballsy beers.

Middleton Brewing – Peanutbutter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout and the Strawberry American Wheat. I might have to drink these at the same time and call it a sandwich.

Naked City Brewery – At least three of their beers sound really interesting, like the Brass Monkey Orange Peel Malt Liquor.

Postdoc Brewing – (6pm FRI & SAT) Hogus Maximus Barriclus Barrel Aged Triple IPA.

Odd Otter Brewing – Ottcho Borracho Lager with Cilantro and Lime. Coconut Chai Porter.

Rainy Daze Brewing – Mind Funk Oatmeal Pale Stout.

Schooner Exact Brewing – Whiskey Dick Cantwell Barrel-aged Pumpkin Beer. Amarillo Saison. The former is so out of season, the latter just sounds so yummy.

Scuttlebutt Brewing – Aye Caramba Garlic Chili Hefe. Loves me some spicy stuff.

Skookum Brewery – Any or all of their beers. Because Skookum is awesome and I never get their beers.

Strong Arm Brewing – Bravo Charlie Papa Whiskey Barrel Aged Coconut Porter.

Triplehorn Brewing – A rotating assortment of goodness. It’s the most massive list I’ve ever seen one brewery put together for a beer festival. (see our previous post)

Wander Brewing – Saturday beers: Raspberry Millie Raspberry Sour and Uno Bretto Brett Pale Ale

  1. Triplehorn is really hoping to shine this year. I spend quite a bit of time there and in talking with the boys they really want to show their chops and give back to the beer community. Everything is going to be timed so make sure you check their FB page for times certain beers are going on. Super sad I can’t make it this year. First year I haven’t gone. 🙁
