The Largest Seattle-Only Beer Fest of the Year: BREW Seattle

A few years ago the nice people at Seattle magazine contacted me about a big beer festival they wanted to organize in Seattle. In short, they wanted my advice. At that time there were 30-something breweries in Seattle so I told them that, since they’re Seattle magazine, I thought it would be cool to do a festival dedicated exclusively to breweries within city limits. A hyper-local brew fest. They agreed and created BREW Seattle.

The 3rd Annual BREW Seattle tasting event takes place in downtown Seattle on Friday, October 23rd, featuring beers from 20 or Seattle’s nearly 60 breweries. Tickets are now on sale. This event sells out every year.

There are plenty of other beer fests that are more inclusive, but BREW Seattle is exclusively for Seattle breweries. I know some people say, “Why would they limit it to only Seattle breweries?” Well, because they can. There’s plenty of great beer being brewed within city limits. As of this moment, there are 57 breweries in Seattle and the 58th is very close to opening.
