Latona Pub 30th Anniversary – an entire week of events August 14 thru 19

August 14th through August 19th the Latona Pub celebrates its 30th Anniversary. They have six nights of events lined up to commemorate the occasion.

They’ll kick things off on Monday with the release of a special beer from Stoup Brewing. The next night will be dedicated to legacy breweries—the local legends that have been along for the 30-year ride. They’ll dedicate one night to some of the out-of-town breweries that have help support the Latona over the years. Cask-conditioned beer will be the theme on Thursday. Music has long been a tradition at the Latona, and that’s what they’ll celebrate on Friday. Finally, the week wraps up on Saturday, August 19th with an all-day party.

Details about all of these event can be found below.

Mon, Aug 14
7pm

Join us in celebrating the release of our 30th Anniversary Beer—Stoup’s Barrel Aged Latona Flemish Red. We’ve truly enjoyed a mutual respect and friendship with Stoup’s head brewer/founder Brad Benson and his wife Lara Zahaba that extends all the way through the brewery—from brewer Robyn Schumacher, to sales guru Jason Bass, and everyone working day in and day out of the taproom. This beer is the result of that bond, and it’s been aging gracefully in barrels for over 8 months so that we can share it with you.

Legacy Brewer’s Night

Tuesday, August 15
7pm

Pike Brewing, Hale’s Ales, Big Time, and Maritime Brewing are cornerstones of the Seattle brewing community—without them, the craft beer community we all love so much wouldn’t exist. On Tuesday, 8/15, we pay homage to the countless talented brewers who have supported us for the last 30 years.

The second night of our 30th anniversary celebration sees the return of Big Time’s Bhagwan’s Best IPA—brewed by a collective who’s who of former Big Time brewers like Dick Cantwell, Kevin Forhan, Bill Jenkins, Drew Cluley, and current brewmaster Bradley Zimmerman—and a special Latona Pike IPA brewed on their pilot system. Additionally, we’ll be featuring special beers like a super dry-hopped cask of Hales Supergoose, Maritime’s Nightwatch Coldbrew Coffee Ale alongside offerings from the aforementioned brewers’ current taprooms—Flying Bike, Beardslee Public House, and RAM Brewing.

Out of Towners’ Night

Weds, August 16
7pm

We love Washington Beer. However, there was a time—many years ago—where we had to lean on our friends from other states to get our hands on more than a handful of local unique hand-crafted beers. Back then, we turned to breweries like Rogue, Sierra Nevada, and New Belgium. We’ll be pouring some classics like Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale—the gateway craft beer, if you will—as well as some really limited stuff like their River Ryed IPA, New Belgium’s Blackberry Oscar Sour, and Rogue’s Luna Red Lager. Additionally, we plan to have some other fun surprises from outside of Washington state.

Tonight, visiting hours go until closing—and we’ll be celebrating our friends from other states until the beer stops flowing.

30th Anniversary Cask Night

Thurs., August 17
5:30pm

At the Latona, casks are tradition. It’s the freshest beer you’ll ever have, and when it’s gone—it’s gone forever. We’ve gathered up a bunch of our friends from local breweries like Cloudburst, Fremont, Two Beers, Stoup, Reuben’s, and Machine House (who specialize in casks) to bring you some unique, dry hopped IPAs.

Music of the Latona

Friday, August 18
5pm-10pm

Event Details

Way back in the day—1992, to be exact—Boots, Barrie, and Murray played every Friday night during happy hour. That torch was eventually passed to bassist and bandleader extraordinaire Phil Sparks in 2009. On Friday, Phil will play an extended set at the Latona, followed by guitarist Leif Totusek—the first musician Bob ever booked at the Latona.

Latona Pub 30th Anniversary Party

Saturday, August 19
All Day

For 30 years, the Latona has enjoyed the community that comes from supporting independently owned craft beer. Without that community, we’d never have made it as far as we have—and we’d have so many less stories to tell. On Saturday, August 19th, we’ll be celebrating independent craft beer with one of the best tap lists you’ll find in Seattle, made up of brews from our friends at Georgetown, Wander (who will be bringing something special out of their barrel room), Matchless, Three Magnets, Reuben’s, Stoup, Seapine, Anacortes, Cloudburst, and several others. Solo singer/songwriter Eric Miller will be playing from 7pm-9pm, and we’ll be running BBQ food specials throughout the day.
