Lazy Boy Brewing releasing a new, special Stout this Saturday

Today we share news of a new pro-am beer by Lazy Boy Brewing.“We recently commercially brewed a Russian Imperial Stout for a local home brew recipe contest,” said Shawn Loring of Lazy Boy Brewing. “It’s a huge Russian Stout with lots of roasted mouthfeel. We will be tapping it on Saturday, January 4 at the brewery and also at Brews Almighty in Everett.”

The winning recipe belongs to Phil Knudson and Blake Skouras, the homebrewing team that won the contest sponsored by Homebrew Heaven in Everett.

According to Shawn, the recipe called for several different grains, including pale, flaked barley, black patent, Midnight Wheat, Cara-Aroma, and lots of roasted malt. The hop schedule included Cascade hops and Zeus hops (for aroma). The beer clocks in at 9.8 percent ABV.
