Live from the new Jolly Roger

We’re live at the new Maritime Pacific Jolly Roger Taproom, at the preview event for WABL members. It’s standing room only, with a free cask of IPA blown in 18 minutes. No worries, pints will be two dollars all night (open until 10 p.m.). George Hancock just welcomed the crowd and is now offering brewery tours.

The public opening is at 4 p.m. so it will only be getting busier. Stop on by, we think you’ll be impressed and happy with the new Roger.

  1. We went to the JR Taproom last night. Here’s our comments.

We were there at 5:00pm on a Tuesday afternoon. The facility is beautiful and tastefully done. As it was a hopping place, we got one of the last available tables.

They need to do something about the noise level. Everyone was screaming to be heard across the table – not good.

Dinner menu is limited to the most expensive items – not pub food. Couldn’t order off the lunch menu. We left without eating. We couldn’t see spending $50-$60 for our dinner when we couldn’t even converse across the table.

    No Happy Hour menu?

The Jolly Roger Ale is flat this year. Perhaps it was bottled too early in the rush to move? Something went terribly wrong.

  3. The lunch specials are only available until 4:00 except on Sunday, but the Chef’s list menu(salads, onion rings, mahis, etc..) are available all day. Dinner menu is only available after 5:00.
