Live from Seattle Beer Week Last Call

I am here at the Hale’s Palladium where Seattle Beer Week 2010 is coming to a close. This event, dubbed “Last Call” marks the official closing of Seattle Beer Week. It has been 10 action-packed days with every imaginable kind of beer event crowding the calendar, and today’s crowd seems to be a bit less driven than you would normally expect to see at a beer festival like this. It is a good crowd (sold out, or close at least), but there are a lot of bleary-eyed people looking down at their cups, as if to say, “More beer? You can’t be serious.”

More than twenty of Washington’s best breweries are here pouring beer today. This event, a joint operation between the Seattle Beer Week organizers and the Washington Beer Commission is a fitting way to wrap up this year’s Seattle Beer Week.

Take a deep breath. Now it’s time to set our sights on “The Mother of all Father’s day beer festivals.” In the coming weeks we’ll be getting you ready for the Washington Brewers Festival (June 18-20). No rest for the thirsty!

Cheers to everyone who helped bring Seattle Beer Week together this year! Here are some pictures of today’s festivities at the Seattle Beer Week Last Call.

  1. I here that this years Seattle beer week had as many quality events as those available at the notorious Philly and San Francisco beer weeks… and only in its second year! Next year I’m going to make a point to attended at least a weekends worth of events. High five to the organizers.
