Mariners Announce Brewery Night at the Ballpark

Updated June 26 with information about the participating breweries.

I feel fairly confident when I say that no other Major League ballpark in America shows a commitment to local craft beer quite like Safeco Field. No, I have not visited all of the other ballparks in the big leagues, but I cannot imagine a ballpark showing more dedication to craft beer. Our ballpark even has cask-conditioned beer at every game, poured from specially designed beer engines. I have even heard non-craft beer drinkers complain about the number of taps dedicated to craft beer. Ya, sorry about that.

On Friday July 11th, the Mariners play the Oakland Athletics at Safeco Field. In addition to the ballgame, this will be a special Brewery Night event, featuring cask-conditioned beer and other special beers from six local craft breweries. Details are still being finalized, but here’s what we know.

The special Brewery Night beers pour at a private, pre-game party on the 300 level called the Outside Corner. We like to call it the brew deck. Join the brewers, or other brewery representatives, and enjoy a selection cask-conditioned beers poured from firkins, along with other regular, CO2-driven beers.

  1. Awesome!! Go Safeco! You gotta get down to Petco Park in San Diego. Best beer selection by far for a MLB team. Have ‘Firkin Friday’ every week. At least 40 different local beers too.

  2. Any idea whether you will be able to pay separately to attend the event if you already have tickets to this game? I’m going with a large group and I think a lot of us would love to upgrade to enjoy the pre-game festivities if possible!

  3. Go to the event website. There’s a contact person and phone number. Use it. I bet there’s a way they can accommodate you
