NABA Awards - Washington's Medal Winners - The Washington Beer Blog

This year’s winners were just announced and Washington breweries brought home 25 medals from the North American Brewers Association Awards (NABA Awards). Leading the way, Bellingham’s Chuckanut Brewery won a total of four medals, three gold and one silver.

Chuckanut was not the only Bellingham brewery to bring home hardware this year. Alsan Brewing (1), Boundary Bay Brewery (3), and Wander Brewing (1) also won medals. All Washington winners are listed below.

The North American Beer Awards is held in conjunction with the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest in Idaho Falls, ID, which takes place each year in June. The competition provides an opportunity for commercially produced beers to be judged against the best beers in the country. The event is conducted as a single blind sampling followed by rank ordering of the entries within a category.

In 2014, 1,400 beverages entered in the competition. No word on how were entered in 2015, the event’s 19th year. Not every brewery submits beers for these awards, but plenty of breweries do and these medals are highly coveted.
