Narrows Brewing Introduces Hibiscus Saison for Spring & Summer

Here is a press release from Narrows Brewing Company in Tacoma regarding the upcoming release of its new seasonal beer. The beer will be released at the brewery’s taproom in Tacoma tomorrow (Friday, March 28).

Spring has just about sprung, and in celebration of the budding season, Narrows Brewing Company is celebrating with their Siren’s Call Hibiscus Saison. This seasonal release is a Northwest take on a Midwest-made and internationally inspired recipe – and it’s coming to you on Friday, March 28!

Back in 2010, Narrows Brewing Company’s head brewer, Joe Walts, brewed his first batch of the farmhouse style ale in his hometown of Madison, Wis., after his friend, Robyn Klinge, returned from Egypt bearing gifts of dried hibiscus flowers. The two concocted the fragrant brew at Joe’s house, and distributed a few bottles at Vintage Brewing Company. The brew was locally revered, and brewmaster Scott Manning adapted the recipe, offering it as a Spring and Summer seasonal at the brewhouse.

Several years later, Walts has resurrected the subtly sweet, tart and fragrant flavors found in this farmhouse style ale, and has integrated it as the most recent installment to the Narrows Brewing line-up.

Narrows Brewing Company invites you to celebrate the release of their Siren’s Call Hibiscus Saison on Friday, March 28, from 5pm-11pm, at their brewery and taproom located at the historic Narrows Marina. Enjoy sipping from this seasonal saison and other Narrows Brewing favorites as you munch on handfuls of sea salt seasoned popcorn from M Street Popcorn. The siren is calling, and we can’t wait to see you at the release!
