New brewery coming to Bainbridge Island

And it just continues. More breweries coming to Washington, that is. We have been hearing whispers on the wind about this one, but now we have confirmation that someone is opening a brewery on Bainbridge Island.

“Thought you might like to add another new brewery to the list,” said Russell Everett in an email to the Washington Beer Blog today. “We’re starting up on Bainbridge Island, should be open March/April next year if all goes as planned. Just leased the space, so next comes those fun months of build-out and permitting. We’ll be using Facebook as the main source of updates until the website is up and running.”

Russell Everett describes himself as a recovering lawyer, award-winning home brewer, and former pro brewer. He will be the head brewer at Bainbridge Island Brewing Company.

Bainbridge Island, WA. September 13, 2011 – The Bainbridge Island Brewing Company LLC, is proud to announce that next year it will open Bainbridge Island’s own microbrewery: Bainbridge Brewing.   Located in the “Coppertop” Sportsman Business Park on Sportsman Club Road, Bainbridge Brewing will produce a variety of fresh, small-batch beers, which will be available on tap at local pubs and restaurants.   Preparations are currently underway for a planned Grand Opening in early Spring 2012.

In addition to its wholesale microbrewery operations, Bainbridge Brewing will feature a comfortable public taproom with a mezzanine level.  From there patrons may observe the brewery equipment while sipping a fresh pint, and learn about the craft microbrewery process on a tour from the Head Brewer.  Taproom beers will be offered as sample flights and by the pint.  Our Bainbridge Beer will also be available for take-away in refillable half-gallon growler jugs, and for larger occasions in 5.16 and 15.5 gallon kegs.

Head-Brewer Russell Everett is an award-winning homebrewer, former professional brewer and recovering lawyer intent on turning the microbrewery of his dreams into a hoppy reality.   A graduate of Bainbridge High School, he is returning to create something special for the Island and the West Sound community, saying “Everyone around here has their own great local craft microbrewery.  It’s time the Island had one too!”

The microbrewery will produce his take on Northwest favorites, including:

  • Kommuter Kölsch – a refreshing German-style Blonde Ale
  • Blakely Brown – an English pub-style session Brown Ale
  • Battle Point Bitter – a classic Northwest Pale Ale
  • Eagle Harbor IPA – a hoppy India Pale Ale
  • Seabold Stout – a dark, roasty Stout

Among those who’ve tasted his brews, Russell is also well known for his more outlandish, award-winning and boundary-pushing beers.  So the brewery will also feature several rotating taps of seasonal styles, experiments with exotic ingredients, and other interesting creations.  The focus will always be on local ingredients and character, the quality and freshness of the beer, and an endless curiosity about what beer can be.

You can follow our progress on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/BainbridgeBrewing and may contact Russell Everett with further questions at rheverett@gmail.com.

We look forward to raising a toast with you!
