We heard a rumor awhile ago that there was a new festival in the works – a Washington-made Belgian-style beer festival. That was months ago and we were sworn to secrecy. Certainly producing Belgian-style beers has been increasingly popular amongst our local brewers, so why not get a whole bunch of them side-by-side to see how they stack up against each other. We’re always in favor of a new beer festival.
Here is what we’ve learned so far. The Washington Beer Commission will be making an official announcement soon.
The date for the first annual BELGIANFEST: ‘A Festival of Belgian-style Beers’ has just been announced:
Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Georgetown Studios on Airport Way in south Seattle.
Details regarding ticket pricing, session hours, and participating breweries will be forthcoming in the next couple of months.
Obviously, the Washington Beer Blog will report any more details as they become available.
